Captain Help

Everything you need to know about using the Canterbury 8-Ball interclub app.

Submitting a Lineup

Both teams submit their lineup before scoring can begin. This tells the app who is playing in each rubber so scores and stats are recorded correctly.

1

Go to the Draw and find your match. Tap "Lineup" or open the match page and choose Submit Lineup.

2

Enter your team code when prompted. Your team code is given to you by the competition organiser — it's usually the first letter of your club followed by your team name (e.g. CGOLD for Cashmere Gold).

3

Select your players in the order they will play rubbers 1 through 8. Drag or tap to reorder if needed.

4

Tap "Submit Lineup". You will see a confirmation once it has saved. Both teams must submit before scoring can start.

Tip: Lineups can be submitted as early as you like — submit yours as soon as your team is confirmed.

Live Scoring

Only the home team captain enters scores. The away captain can open the same page to watch scores update in real time but cannot change anything.

1

Go to the Draw, find your match, and tap Score Match.

2

Enter your home team code in the Team Code box. The scoring buttons will unlock once the correct code is entered.

3

For each rubber, tap "+H" to add a frame for the home player or "+A" for the away player. The score updates live for anyone watching.

4

If you make a mistake, tap "Reset" on that rubber to clear it back to 0–0 and re-enter.

5

Once all rubbers are finished, tap "Save Match" to record the final result. You will see a confirmation message.

Note: Save Match and Submit Lineup are different steps. Make sure you tap Save Match at the end or the result will not be recorded.

Viewing Results & Ladder

The app updates live during matches. Anyone can view results and standings — no login required.

Common Problems

The scoring buttons are greyed out / I can't enter scores.

Only the home team captain can score. Make sure you have entered your home team code in the Team Code box at the top of the scoring page. If you don't know your team code, contact the competition organiser.

My team code is not working.

Team codes are case-insensitive but must be exact. Check with your organiser for the correct code. It is usually the first letter of your club + team name with no spaces (e.g. CPANTHERS for Cashmere Panthers).

The scoring page says 'Both lineups must be submitted before scoring can begin'.

One or both teams have not submitted a lineup yet. Both teams must submit their lineups first. Check with the away captain that they have submitted theirs.

A player is late or needs to be changed after the match has started.

Tap the back button at the top of the scoring page, then tap Submit Lineup on the next page. Enter your team code and tap Edit, make your player changes, then tap Save. This will bring you back to the match with the updated lineup.

I entered a wrong score on a rubber.

Tap Reset on that rubber to clear it back to 0–0, then re-enter the correct score. If the match has already been saved, contact the competition organiser to correct it in the admin.

I forgot to tap Save Match at the end.

If the browser is still open, the scores are still there — tap Save Match to record the result. If you have closed the page, contact the competition organiser who can enter the result manually.

The match is not showing in the Draw.

The draw is loaded by the competition organiser. If your match is missing, contact them directly. Make sure you are looking in the correct division and round.

Live scores are not updating on the TV screen.

Check that the scoring device is connected to the internet. The TV screen refreshes automatically — if it appears stuck, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on a browser). If scoring was happening offline, scores will sync once the connection is restored.
